kiln talk...

With all this kiln talk, I am reminded of a conversation I had with a
couple of other teachers. They asked me why I don't do anything with clay. I
replied that I don't have a kiln as well as the place to put one. One of the
teachers hunted down a kiln and occasionally asks me why I don't go get it.
I keep explaining to her that the kiln has to be ventilated - I can't just
plug it in and awway we go. I don't think she understands. Why is it exactly
that the kiln needs to be ventilated? I know it does and can't stand the
smell even if one is ventilated. Just curious...
