Ann, I just had a mixed group of 4th & 5th grade students make a paper
quilt ala Faith Ringgold. We used fadeless paper to do our cut outs,
wallpaper pieces for the border, and typed words for our explanations. The
theme was Christmas around the world - the students researched topics to
include in visuals and words. For a quickie it came out well. The fifth
graders in this group had worked with me last year in making a cut paper
mural in Matisse's paper cutout style with the theme of fall; for that one
they wrote autumn poems. Good Luck, Linda White in Norman, OK where strep
season seems to arrived with a change in the weather. L
