Welcome to the wonderful world of testing! Texas has been doing the TAAS
even before I arrived here and it affects the fine arts a little more each
year... Especially now that good ol' Gov. Bush has said that this years
kindergarten students have to pass the test at third grade or they don't go
on to fourth. and the same at fouth the next, and fifth the next, and so on.

Just wait until they start taking away your art classes so YOU can teach
those remedial classes so it doesn't take away time from the classroom
teacher.

Oh, and say goodbye to subjects not on the test. Our test is reading writing
and math... NOBODY in my school teaches things like history, science,
geography anymore... We were looking at a painting of George Washington
rallying his troops in third grade last week and NOT ONE student could tell
me who George Washington was... IN THIRD GRADE!!!

This is a wake up call out there to all who are thinking of voting for
Bush!! I am one Texan who will vote for ANYBODY running against him. Even if
the best choice is Al Gore. YUCK!
