When I first started at my school, I had more problems with losing
supplies to the rest of the school. When I talked to the principal, she
saw the needs of other teachers to use art supplies and said part of my
order was intended for that. After that I got a little more money, and
now I consider my budget to be for students to do art projects in any
class within the school. I give the other teachers easy access to
construction paper, paint, (short) colored pencils, (old) scissors, and
almost anything else they need. Fewer things disappear because they
know they can get what they need any time, and they don't have to store
them in their rooms. And I do have secure places for the things I
really need just for art class.
