About a year ago I was teaching my first grade students about Claude
Monet. The following week I wanted to see if any of them recalled his
name. So I asked them, "Who was the artist we talked about last week?"
One little girl raised her hand and instead of saying "Claude Monet",
she said "Jon Bonnet." (This was right during the time that the Jon
Bonnet death was all over the news.)
Another one occured when me and another lady were teaching Sunday school
several years ago to preschool aged students. Being a small church we
also had the infants in the room with us. The older kids kept poking
and prodding one of the babies. Finally the other teacher said, "Kids,
leave that baby be!" One little girl looked up at us and with a very
concerned voice stated,"That's not a baby bee!! That's my brother!"
