Very enlightened. Sometimes compromise simply means doing what is best for the
program or the students. At my last position I had two Indies (Silicon
Graphics computers) with Lightwave on one and SoftImage on the other. And
these were the $10,000.00 and $20,000.00 versions too. Now you would think
that anyone concerned with education of our youth would have no problem with
servicing these computers. Not our district. They had someone who knew the
Unix operating system and he was eager to get over there and work with those
computers. But I was told that he was not allowed to do so. In essence we were
punished for having them. I had to haul them 60 miles to a friend who does
work for Geroge Lucas, using the same computers and similar software, to get
any service. At my expense of course.
