Mark, I have a drawing rubric posted which requires a minimum of 7 value
changes. I have that value range posted right beside the rubric. I supply a
range of pencils or charcoal from B to 6B. They refer to the rubric and the
value chart frequently when they are drawing and are learning how to use the
pencil or charcoal range to achieve it.
Now if we can just get rid of the dark line around everything that they have
brought up from elementary. At least most of mine have had a struggle to break
that habit. Maybe that is not so common.
