I teach K-12. I don't let grades one and two sharpen colored pencils. Grades 3 on I allow only two turns of the regular sharpener for colored pencils. I do not allow them to use electric sharpener for colored pencils. This seems to work fairly well. Also the cheap hand sharpeners work OK for colored pencils. Leah Morgan
