Our school went M-Age last fall....first and second combos. I
tried to prepare in advance. However I found next to nothing on M-A and
the Arts in research. Now we are 4 months into it. There have been NO
meetings to check progress or problems. The music teacher and I are
frustrated because it was suggested that we teach second grade curr. to the
M-A classes. However our material is very sequential. As a result we are
not really teaching to the older students. They are not getting the same
ideas and materials that they would if they were in a second grade. I
don't disagree with the philosophy of M-A but I am finding this year to be
a frustration and I hope it will smooth out next year.
In terms of management, I have always had the kids who "get it"
help those who don't. That continues to work for M-A. But I find I need
to take GOOD notes for each class. Otherwise, the kids say "oh we did that
last week!"
One of the reasons I got on this listserve was for more info on
M-A. Can any one else respond to this?

Louise
