Two tenure-track positions are open in the Art Department at CSU Long Beach:

ART HISTORY Tenure-Track - Greek/Roman specialist. Assistant Professor.
Salary Range: $37,956-$47,844. Start August 18, 1998. Ph.D. required. Also
teach Ancient Near Eastern & Egyptian to upper division and graduate level.
Teaching experience at University level; record of scholarly achievement.
Work with ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Secondary
fields: Art Theory & Historiography, and/or non-Western art. Experience with
digitized images, multimedia and interactive learning. Teach Global
"Foundation Art History." Advisement, curricular and committee service. To

SCULPTURE Tenure-Track - Assistant Professor. Salary Range: $37,956 -
$47,844. Start August 18, 1998. MFA or equivalent record of extraordinary
professional achievement. Able to articularte issues in contemporary
sculpture; teach sculpture courses at undergraduate and graduate level.
Two-years full-time teaching at college level in a variety of meida; knowledge
of figurative imaging. Active rocord of artist achievement. Ability to carry
leadership role in Sculpture Program including curriculum development and
service to the university. Ability to work with an ethnically and culturally
