I'm not sure of the original post, but I am currently doing a relief printing
project with 4th graders. We have VERY limited supplies, so I have been
cutting up corrigated cardboard boxes into rectangles about 5"x4" give or take
an inch or so. Each kid gets two pieces, one to cut and the other to use as a
base. We talk about geometric and organic shapes. They create designs and
pictures - very simple - and glue them down making sure to leave negative
space between the positive shapes. We then paint the raised surface with
tempera and print. They get a printing experience without a lot of money or
fancy supplies. It works pretty well. Hope this helps. I have done it with
acrylic paint in a different district, that worked better.
