Emily and others--I liked your idea of an eco-quiz for students for
determining their level of environmental awareness. Last spring I was
artist in res at a school, working on their butterfly garden, when Earth
Day rolled around. I developed these q's for the teachers to use in earth
day discussions, maybe they would be useful to you?

Earth Day Questions:

1. Get a glass of drinking water and take a drink. Where did your
water come from? Where will it go when you pour it down the drain? How
far can you track it in each direction?

2. How did you get to school today? How do you get to the store? To
a Movie?
What energy takes you to these places? Will that energy last forever?
Turn on a light. What is the energy source for that light ? Will that
energy last forever? Donít forget to turn the light off!

3. What are you eating for lunch? For dinner? What did you eat that
is grown (or could be grown) within 1 mile of your house? 100miles? 1000
miles? How did it get to your table?
