The Bureau of Cultural Affairs in Atlanta has a project called "Materials for
the Arts" which is a clearing house for companies (Coke or some big
corporation remodeled their offices and donated all of their conference room
furniture, filing cabinets, desks, etc.) frame shops donate their discards,
and various other companies donate their goods and get a tax break.
Artists/teachers, etc. can then come by and pick up what they need by
signing a form and writing a note thanking the company and documenting that
it is being recycled into their work. Artists can also donate their items
they no longer need. A great way to recycle! For more information you can
contact the Atlanta Bureau of Cultural Affairs.
