I'm doing a Computer Graphics class right now with juniors and seniors,
using Mac's, and their final project is a group calendar. They chose the
theme: their top 12 musicians (Rock, of course), and each person got a
month and a musician. Since there are only 11 students, I got one too -
Stevie Ray Vaughn. We will use a calendar design program that came with the
PowerPC for the months, which will take up the bottom half of the page, and
they are responsible for designing the illustration and heading on the top
half, plus adding holidays, prom dates, last day of school, etc. to their
specific months. For the illustration, I am requiring them to combine a
digital image from another source (Internet, CD-ROM, digital camera,
scanned, etc.) with some of their own artwork. They seem excited about it.
I will then print out 1 color version of each page and then probably take
it to a local xerox place to get enough color xeroxes to make a calendar
for each student.
