Yes, I too have had my years of "art on a cart" and I definately needed
my sense of humor to get me through many a day. Preparing the teachers
for work that would have to be saved until the next week was a
necessity. I teach in an elementary school in Florida, my school does
not have interior hallways-all rooms open to the outside. So putting
work outside to dry was an impossibility on windy days.

But for all of us that has had to travel, does your music teacher
travel? In my case, never.

Hopefully, presenting ourselves in a professional manner, promoting our
curriculum, school wide projects, art show, displays, etc... will
strengthen our credibility with the administrators. I am very fortunate
to have a Principal who understands the importance of the arts in a
childs development. But in these times of budget cuts I no longer feel
secure about my position.
