I think your idea do do a more "winter" focused project for this request is right on!

Maybe fanciful landscapes inspired by "If it snowed in Miami....."

One year we did a all school project of winter scenes breaking down the images into grids. Each student created a small section and then we put them all together creating 6 murals.

We used:
· Carl Gaertner, “The Ripsaw.”
· Claude Monet, “The Magpie.”
· Paul Gauguin, “Benton Village Under Snow.”
· Victor Charreton, “Murol in the Snow.” (not mural<grin> city near Clermont-Ferrand, Castle of Murol is there)
· Haley Lever, “Winter, St. Ives.”
·Pieter Brueghel the elder, “Winter Landscape.”

Some other image ideas include:
*Pieter Brueghel, the Elder -"Winter Landscape with Bird Trap, 1601'
*Claude Monet, "Snow at Argenteuil", 1875 or "Wheatstacks, Snow Effect, Morning", 1891
*Vincent van Gogh, "Backyards of Old Houses in Andwerp in the Snow" 1885
*John Henry Twachtman, "Beneath the Snow"
*Franz Marc, "Dog Lying in the Snow"
or maybe some more tropical selection for south Florida!

just ideas...have fun~
