I think this is wonderful...after all how many cookies can one teacher eat/need? How many candles? Decorative statues....etc. But....when someone suggested an alternate idea to one of our 5th grade teachers (he is a30+ year teaching vet) he said he did not think it was a good idea at all and he calls teacher gifts his "bonus". Oh well....it takes all kinds.
