re coloring in the lines...

I just want my kids to see that how they color a shape that they drew
determines whether the shape still looks like the shape they drew, or
perhaps it looks like a zig zaggy edged ambiguous scrawl, lol. There is
a place for expressive coloring and a place for shape definition, imho,
right? Teaching kids to know which to use when is important. Are they
being lazy and rushing, or are they being expresive...therein lies the
rub. I love expressive coloring, but I still want to see the shapes in
their drawings.
