My presentation, "Peace by Piece"; a Japan Connection", will be on Monday at
4:00-4:50. I will share all the lessons I wrote after my inspiring trip to
Japan on the Fulbright Scholarship last year, and student examples of each. The
biggest sucess are the two identical 10' ft. murals that my 85 5th graders
created with 84 5th students in Japan on the theme of peace!. (one for our
school and one for their school) I even have a full-size reproduction of this -in
color on canvas, to show my audience. My district actually paid to have these
reproductions made for the Japanese Consulate in NYC and for the President's
library, as the White House requested one, and made one for me to take to the
conference as well.
My fear is that no one will be in attendence because of my time slot.
Haven't most gone home by Monday? Oh, well, I might be talking to myself.
Unfortunately I had to cancel this presentation last year because my father was very
ill at the time and passed away a short time after the conference, so I had to
reapply. Will anyone out there be there on Monday at 4:00?
