I also use Prang colored pencils and have had very good success. I give each
Art 1 a 12 color set of Prang middle size, pencils and we do a
finder/nonobjective drawing that is very good for them to blend and layer the
pencils. They have enough color and softness to do a good job. Each kid is
then saving these to use in Art 2 and beyond.
