This is a very good point. One of our most obvious "symbols" is a cross =
worn around the neck, but 2000 years ago people never would have worn a =
cross - it is comparable to us wearing a mini electric chair on a chain. =
Many symbols have an interesting history.

Interesting sight Judy, but I certainly don't agree with the premise =
that some symbols are inherently "bad"........symbols and symbolism are =
what people make of them. Some of the 'new age' symbols have a very =
positive meaning for me, for example I have a Celtic symbol I wear that =
symbolizes mind, body, spirit.......which for me means living life =
consciously and purposefully trying to make the world a better place. =
It may not mean that to the Celts, but that is what I take from it. =
