manure and art

Hi,
Bunki's sheep manure story reminds me of the day last spring when our
building's AC died and pumped out heat instead! As the art room became over
100 degrees, I had the great idea to take the kids outside with drawing
boards so that we could escape the stifling room.

We had no sooner sat ourselves down near the classroom garden to draw when
the district landcape people showed up and dumped 5 cubic yards of cow
manure in the garden! We were sitting down wind!! At that point, I knew
"it wasn't meant to be" that day. Luckily, the period ended soon!

Ha. This brings back memories. When we lived near Kansas City (ho, Woody),
we belonged to a huge, new housing development in Lenexa, Kansas. Every year
the association would hold a giant "best lawn" prize with a big engraved
silver bowl as prize with a big sign that would be placed in the winner's
yard as being #1. My husband was fanatic about winning that bowl so every
year he'd order the large dump of sheep-sh*t to cover our yard. All the
neighbors would hoot at us pre-contest as my husband would get out there and
wallow/pound in the prime-smellin' stuff but we'd hoot back when we ALWAYS
won the trophy! Our friends STILL talk about it 20 years later. Our yard was
VIBRANT GREEN!!! Toodles....Bunki
