One way is to teach enameling, many older schools from
the 60's and 70's have enameling kilns and old
supplies, all you would have to find are firescale,
but i have found in a pinch that clay slip would work,
and as a binder, elmers' glue thinned out in water.
To locate the copper.... try roofers...18-20gauge
copper is used for flashing. And to cut shapes, have
the students use tin snips, and files to smooth the
edges. Crude, but effective. You can also do wire
work with beads made from clay. Usually I have get
the wire from electricians, and strip the wire to get
down to the copper.
