My undergrad degree was in fine arts..went back later
and took additional courses (6)to receive art
certification (K-12). I was able to teach art during
this time with a temporary certificate. But that
depends on your state and if you are teaching in
private or public. Private tends to be a little more
lenient with certifications and public sometimes will
offer waivers till you get certified. This all varies
from state to state. Check out these two sites, they
