RE: Cut down on stress

---------

A couple of months ago I found myself thinking surely I didn't go to school
for this. Last week I told my principal I would not be back to teach in
2002-3. Now this is unlike me. I am the one that cheers others on. I often
have reflected over the years how much I like my job! So I had to wonder.
Could it be STRESS!?! During the holiday visits with three of my sisters
(also teachers), I decided that before I just walked away, I would give it
the stress test. I would find ways to reduce the stress level and then see
if I still felt like leaving. To this end, I would like other elementary art
teachers who are teaching at low performing schools populated with violent
students to think about how all of us can reduce our stress.
I thought maybe I might make a list of things that get my pressure up and
then try to approach each item.
Any ideas?
