Hi Everybody,
Finally out for x-Mas!
Been a long week!

About the portraits:
I did portraits with a digital camera and my drawing and painting
students.
We took their pictures with the camera. I developed them with 3 tonal
qualities and had students print them a la Andy Worhol style. This fit
in beautifully with the Pop Art exhibit at the art museum . I had taken
students there in conjunction with this unit of study. Their portraits
were printed 4 times using 5 colors. The last was a photo silkscreen of
themselves over a colle' of playful color. I also had them make a list
of words that described themselves or things they liked. This was
lettered in to one of the portraits in the style of a modern artist
whose name i can't recall. His art work was so intricate with lettering
everywhere. It flowed almost like values into and out of the work. My
foloder is a t school, but will look him up when we go back.
Most students were very successful and dnjoyed the silkscreen process.
Our photoemulsions were done with minimal equipment.

Just a follow up on the portrait idea.

Have a great holiday,
Gelato
