Ken, Judie and others teaching AP Studio. I am revising my course over the
holiday
(yeah, I know I am crazy!) and need some idea of what assignments you require
for summer work. All my kids passed last year but this time it is different.
This year, the HS advisor picked whom would take my course, only a few weeks
before school started and I am left with a nightmare of some kids who
couldn't care less if they passed or not. They took it because "they wanted
to do their thing" in art. Even though I sent home a letter explaining the
program and what extra time will be required, parents signed it, and the kids
aren't delivering. I even give them specific assignments so they will pass
and they grudgingly do them. Arggggh! I am tired of coddling these overgrown
babies.
How do you structure the work in summer and onward? When do you send out
inquiries for who might be interested for the next school year? What are your
requirements for entry to AP?
