Brenda,
I taught at a elementary private school my first 4
years. It was great for all the obvious reasons..small
classes, good budget, not alot of bureaucracy. My
child (who is now in college)went there for free. The
major drawback, though, when my daughter left and went
on to middle school was the pay. Public payed $12,000
more a year. I needed the money so off I went and have
been at public for the last 11 years.Lately the public
schools are going through major problems and if I had
my choice I would go back to teaching in private. As
far as how rare the jobs are..I would think it would
depend on your location. Where I am located there are
many private schools and positions are not too rare.
Good Luck!
Jan in Miami

are?
What I mean is, are they hard to find?
I have been offered a position and I am wondering if I
should jump on
it
as it looks like my job is shaky due to lack of
enrollment.
