I used to teach the facial proportions with hands on, as someone else mentioned
from the list- ie; put your fingers on the bottom of your ears and pull them
around to the front-where do they end up? ( fingers- not your ear lobes!)
anyway, it worked all right, but now I show the Mr. Doodle drawing faces video
to 4ths on up- they love it! It has a catchy little toon. I also realize that
some are just not ready for drawing faces correctly- for whatever reasons.
There are certain schematic idiosynchracies( my spell check wasn't even sure how
to spell this one..) that they get caught up in-no matter what you do to teach
otherwise- such as two straight lines framing the iris of the eye.
