if you can get your hands on some squirt bottles (maybe empty glue bottles)
something with a narrow tip...this is what I did...
In a blender, blend flour and water to make a slurry, I pour this into the
squirt bottles.
the kids all have a piece of muslin ( you could use old sheets from goodwill
or donations, just cut them up into squares)
nest, use the squirt botlles to "draw" the design (we used fish as our main
motif)
outline the drawing and let dry overnite.
next day have the kids scrunch up the fabric (this creates cracks) then paint
with watercolors inbetween the "batik lines"
finally the kids get to pick off the "scabs" my kids love this part! i sewed
them all together to form a wall hanging. this is real cheap if you already
have watercolors.
