RE: WE DID IT -- the children did it

I don't believe talk of religion in the context it is in now appropriate for
this website. I have no issues with people's preferences and this is not the
forum for preaching dogma. The ties religion has to art are multifaceted yet
the core of art is the innate need for man to express himself. Churches are
businesses and church is separate than state. If you are in the public
sector this needs to be clear. This is a public forum and the religious
twist is uncomfortable and it is clear Judy D. is in crisis. I have been on
this list long enough to understand Judy's passion for art and the
generosity of her spirit. Her work is surpurb and well developed. It stands
on its own merit. This is seperate from the religious..Marguerite

Please please
I hesitate to write this

But Judy is in some kind of trouble that only those of us that have been
around for awhile understand.
Judy has been the biggest supporter of all of our questions and queries she
goes way out of her way to answer every question.

No matter what her motivations may be
No matter what her troubles may be

This is not the time to condemn or criticize

Judy needs out support
and those of you that have been around for awhile probably understand what
I'm saying
Those of you new to this list probably have no clue

Like it or not religion is a MAJOR motivating factor in art production.

We can not ignore hundreds of years of the church supporting the arts and
I say that with all the political correctness I can muster.

So much contemporary art is still motivated by informed religious
conceptions

If art is indeed a reflection of the society how do you ever teach any
concepts and intent in the arts.

It still goes on
Serrano's " Piss Christ" The works that offended Guilliani so much at the
Brooklyn museum.

If we don't engage in a back and forth discussion about the motivations of
creative art

then all you do is meaningless

My heart is aching for our good fiend Judy right now

and I hope all of you that have "taken" from her take a moment to give her
the support and love she needs right now.
