More - more - more - more. Isn't that the American way?
Work like you enjoy your work folks. My father enjoyed his work - my art
teacher enjoyed her work.....That is the way to get more people to go into
teaching...AND when you are not enjoying your work ask yourself why? AND if
you don't understand what is wrong with your job -- why you do not like
your job as a teacher, then TALK to your students and they will tell you
what is wrong and will help you enjoy it more. My students always helped me
enjoy my work more. I challenge all teachers everywhere to ask their
children WHY they are not learning today - and what needs to be done to
help them learn. They will tell you what is wrong....and then you can work
to improve a whole lot of things. Who needs all of this "new theories" --
When the ones who know best how they learn are the students.
It was so good to listen to those high school students who are now LEARNING
because they enjoyed learning -- and found a reason to learn as a middle
schooler. They are now soaking in so much information in high school...and
their teachers are enjoying their jobs -- Oh I imagine there is still a lot
of paper work to do.
The Goal of Education is to create LIFE LONG LEARNERS --- don't turn them
off at such a young age...and do give them at least some responsibility for
their learning.
And you must VALUE learning -- Maybe to do "Character Education" -- Try a
little character education (and act the part -- that is even more fun) and
you would be sooooo surprised to find out what the students already know.
You will see a little light shine on their face.
It is the students who have knowledge to give us. It was Einstein who said
IMAGINATION is more important than knowledge. The children are the ones who
know the true meaning of life. What a novel idea -- why don't we find out?
Notes on terrorism: If we want to "end terrorism" --- lets try ending
terrorism in our own home first.... A child will clean his room when he is
good and ready -- so close the door and have fun with his own little world.
If LOVE is in the home -- then love will follow your child. Do everything
in your power to relieve pressure on your own children -- less stress for
you (works for me).
Then let's move to the schools..... Get rid of the bullies! Teach kids how
to deal with a bully. I have shown my students how I deal with
bullies....If the bully won't leave then I guess I must leave -- Works for
me! I would much rather be happy that work with a bully. What would happen
if the KIDS asked the bully to leave? My heavens that kid would be
expelled. You and I know that too well.

P.S. This is working out grand for me -- my son is home sick today and I
can be with him. I feel like a good mother today. So yes -- my little
sunshine is in my home -- I new the sun would come up. And it is now coming
up outside as well.

today I have the EUB enthusiasm down in my heart to stay." EUB - That was
the faith of my mom and dad when I was a kid. Folks when there is a song in
your head -- just sing it to yourself. We can learn a lot from watching
television sometime (Ali McBeal). Like right now I am singing "Who let the
dogs out" and doing a little dance -- well just in my chair - but my
fingers are snapping and my head a bopping. Now I only really dance when
folks are watching
