Okay, as a given, I'm easily amused, and today's special, unexpected =
treat was seeing an unusual jacket that one of my students had on. It =
first looked sort of a neutral brown color, but when the light hit it, =
an amazing thing happened--it became totally complementary in color!

There was nothing special listed on the tags, and it was made from =
polyester and nylon--very thin and lightweight. =20

I've seen fabric that appears somewhat iridescent before, but this was =
the first time I'd run across a fabric that does this! =20

Anyone else ever seen something this or something similar? What's the =
"science" behind the phenomenon, do you suppose?
