A couple of weeks ago I asked for suggestions re: how to best mount plaster
gauze masks onto boards. Thanks again for the suggestions, and please take
a look at what these awesome kids are coming up with for this project!

Your masks are looking fabulous! I especially like the one that is draped.
How'd you do this one? I was wondering...after seeing this one...how you
could work pantyhose into this for stretching and maybe adding wire forms
underneath the hose......hummmmm....just thinking.

Some kids wanted to make hands to go along with their faces. Cool idea,
right? And I DID this before a couple of years ago. For WHATEVER the
reason, it didn't even cross my mind to remember that you can't wrap the
entire hand and fingers with plaster gauze..... While not as thick as a
traditional cast for a broken wrist, they were almost as impossible to get
off!

An easy way to do this is to layer it only on one side and go around the
tips of the fingers and 3/4ths of the fingers, around the side of the hand
and wrist. Let dry. Pull off. Stuff with newspaper into the hand shape and
continue to cover the backside. Very simple, actually. Hopefully I'm going
to get our "hand" sculptures up on the website soon so you can see how we
did them. We did them in groups of two and could get one hand done and
cleaned up in 40 mins.
Again. GREAT job on the masks. Can't wait to see the final results.
Toodles.....Bunki
