Response to:
"About to start the new school year, am looking for some suggestions on =
wall=20
decor for my classroom(not sharing this year with music teacher !!!)"
Why not start the year out with bare walls, allowing student WIP =
(work-in-progress) fill the space as the school year progresses? Too =
often, classroom walls are filled with "wise sayings" that students soon =
forget, and that tend to contribute toward visual clutter. Since "music" =
is an aural experience, why not play Elgar, Copland, Stravinsky, =
Britten, and Debussy, thus, adding aural variety to design?
Here is a combination mini visual/aural lesson for you to consider:

On: "Art I is a dumping ground. It is a wonder that I ever get anyone to
go on to Art II. But somehow our program is growing."
Perhaps, the arts are "dumping grounds" simply because administrators =
and student counselors
have missed out on art training themselves. Why not consider a night =
class offering - just for them? You could title it: "VISUAL LITERACY =
101."
refer these art novices to: www.sierratel.com/robprod
that should wake them up a bit!
