I am brainstorming a new project for my advanced art students and would =
like to have any creative input from you folks. Here is my idea: I =
would like to do a project which I will title "Camouflauge"-each student =
will have to create an illustration which shows objects/items =
camouflauged (spelling?). Immediately I thought of insects on leaves =
but I would like to challenge them to include Surreal imagery or extreme =
realism. Magrittes paintings of canvases within canvases come to mind =
as a reference. I plan on having them work with rapidograph pens and =
ink. They will need to use hatching, cross-hatching, stippling, etc. =
and have the option of choosing to add colored inks. Ink washes could =
also be considered. =20
Does anyone have any suggestions or references to beef up this lesson?
