I am typing this response on an old, out of date LCIII Mac. All the classroom
teachers in our school got an iMac last year. The funds were there to
purchase enough for the 5 "special area teachers" but the principal chose not
to do that. I poll the classes to find out how they are using technology.
only 5 out of 25 teachers allow the students to use the net. In fact only 10
let their students use the computers at all, and most were playing games and
doing word processing.(We use the net as much as possible in the art room,
but it is sooo slow).

I suspect some folks are a bit narrow in their vision. The good news here is
that I "think" the specials are getting new computers this fall. I requested
a G3 with a ton of ram so my students can get lots of experience with graphic
programs. I am saving all your messages about digital cameras, dabbler,
photoshop, etc. to use when I try to get the software.
Wish me luck!
