All I can say to you is that after a year of little support from both
administration and colleagues, dealing with a methane gas leak in my office
which left me sickened for over three months until I finally investigated it
myself, dealing with accusations that I was "making it up to get attention",
moving to a new space next to the custodian's smelly supplies and trash,
fighting with school assistants over who "actually" owns the construction
paper, dealing with a large school with a cart and 5 minutes to get to
classes at the other end of the earth, watching as both mine and my
partner's desk were rolled by where I was teaching intended to be taken away
to give to someone else who "needed it more" and having to sift through all
of our supplies that were thrown onto the floor...while teaching a full load
of does happen to everyone unfortunately. And yes, you can
pick your battles...but its when those battles turn into all out wars that
you can no longer take it and you blow.

I blew and then I dealt with it....then I calmly sought other employment and
am happy to say I found fact in a place I have dreamed of teaching
in. Now some people said to me...oh, you'll just go to a new school and get
new problems....but I knew in my heart I was not going to function as the
teacher I wanted to be in that I made the decision and followed
through. Your soul is the most important part of you...make sure to nurture
it and take care of it......deep down you know the answer you are looking

Much luck, Stephanie
