There is no contradiction in the Church as far as the scientific theory of
evolution. As a matter of fact years ago when I taught 6th grade religion
and science I discussed it all the time. The Bible is a book of faith
rather than a science text. The basic truths the Church would like us to
glean from it are: God created us, we are loved by God eternally and
without end and that we sin by breaking reationship with God, oursleves and
others...and in the New Testament that we are redeemed through the life,
death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
By the way, the is a call for entries for artists to submit images of Jesus
for the new millenium. The National Catholic Reporter is handling
submissions for the US artists. No more than 3 slides can be submitted to
