There's nothing that replaces the look and feel of excitement when a student
sees their first photograph develop in a tray. We did photography for years,
in our elementary school. We loaded film into canisters for development in
black bags, we developed the film in buckets, and used my storage room, with
signs on the door to develop the prints. Nothing like it.

Now I have two enlargers, good ones, and loads of cameras, and we are not
allowed to do photography in elementary school. Go figure. One teacher still
does it with her students, but has to go to the Technical school across town
to develop pictures.
