Follow directions
Raise your hand to speak
stay In your seat unless excused
Eyes on teacher or work
No loud talking
Do your best
Of course, there are conditions to these rules, like students can leave
seats to sharpen pencils, stand to work, get materials, change water, etc.
Raise hand to speak is during class wide discussions, presentations. Eyes
on teacher (when talking), work (while working), you get the idea.
I also have four huge illustrated signs that I made that say: Look; Listen;
Think; Create (and I encourage that order). Also my one big rule is Please
be Courteous (posted in front and discussed on first day or whenever
necessary). When in doubt remember the big rule.
