Hello friends,
There is a fabulous article in the summer 1999 volume of Studies in Art
Education about celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead), "Teaching
About the Ofrenda and Experiences on the Border." It is written by Kristin
G. Congdon, Catalina Delgado-Trunk, and Marva Lopez. I found this essay very
interesting. In addition to sharing information about a community-wide
celebration in Florida, it offers insight into approaching this cultural
event with enthusiasm and sensitivity.
