Hi everyone..I just spent in amazing amount of time taking in some craft
stores and have found something that i am interested in..and wonder if you
can help me figure out how this artist did it. There is a woman (perhaps
company) that paints on wood....inspirational messages, thoughts dreams,
quotes, etc...some of these pieces are large..furniture type things, others
are mirrors, etc. I have seen her work now in Denver, Maine and Boston so I
know it is a major "chain" type of art thing. My question is that it looks
as if she carves (not very deep) or burnishes into the wood to get her black
outlines then goes in and paints as if its a coloring book type of thing.
How does one do this type of carving thing...what kind of tool do you use?I
do alot of painting on anything I can really find and I think I would like
to try this type of creative process. AND has anyone come across this type
of thing on the web? Thanks, stephanie
