I can see some problems with the idea of a kiln. As Woody in KC points out,
wiring and "amp support" is an issue. Can your, I assume, older Chicago
school building support it? And secondly, there is a continuing cost for clay
and glazes. Is that within your yearly budget the second and third year out?
Third, how often do you see your students? Once a week? Where would you store
your clay while its drying? Between green firings and glaze firings. I know
these aren't the questions you asked about, but they are ones I faced over
the years. Thought they might be helpful.
