I'm going to try something different for art contests this year. My new
(2nd year) principal keeps pushing contests, sooooooo. I'm going to use the
say no to drugs contest (usually the first one presented to me) as a design
lesson for grades four and five. I'm going to teach all the basics for good
poster design, along with handouts for future reference. Then, I'm going to
post all the contests just inside the artroom door so that any interested
students can check the board at any time. I'll just mention the new
contests from time to time, offer materials and help, and that will be it!
Sincerely, Leah in PA
