When I started teaching over twenty years ago, we had six periods and one was my
plan, so I taught five classes each day. Later we went to seven periods, then
later eight, of course they were shorter. Now I teach seven classes and the other
is my plan. Sorry to stretch this story out, but the point is, Last year our
school hired a 1/2 time teacher. She taught taught four classes for 1/2 pay and
then was free to leave for the day. She made 1/2 pay of course and for teaching
one less class than what use to be a full time job. Her plan time is whenever, I
guess. Just a thought.
