For lots of reasons, they get a new server, or just change URL or drop the
site. Whoever put it together put a lot of time on it, perhaps they haven't

I am very well aware of why a web site might have dead links. In fact, that
is my point. If a site is not well maintained, it is not worth the effort to
go there.
