I know this is lording it over.... but there isn't a bit of a problem in a
Catholic school with talking about the religious basis of mandalas.... isn't
it strange that such schools can allow "the competition" 's point of view but
that the public schools have to walk on eggshells? Theology is Theology is
Theology... and art has always been intricately mixed into it. What a (darn)
shame. How do you talk about the artwork in the cathedrals of Europe ... how
do you talk about a Potlatch ... how do you talk about masks of any kind other
than European? How do you talk about Stonehenge or the Book of Kells or the
Chinese Household Gods?
Good luck with it... it's hard to divorce the theological from the art form.
