Dear Sal:
I have a "Free Art Time" area along the windowsill in my room where
students can choose to build with duplos, model with plasticine or draw
with markers, crayons or colored pencils. The rule is that their work
has to be finished and oked my me, I allow only 4 students to a box of
duplos at a time (to be used on the floor) and the materials must be
retured to the area properly. They LOVE the freedom to create what THEY
want. I've entertained the thought of adding art appreciation games and
have also had a feltboard in the past. I teach K-5 in Pittsburgh.
