There are good charter schools and some that are pure business ventures and a
sham. The one near my city is run by Charter Schools International and the
qualifications are very high for teacher emrollment. This high school requires
all teachers to be certified and have a Masters Degree. It is run as an
Academy. Children who continually choose disrupt are expelled. They can do
this because parents pay tuition for their kids to go there even though it is
a city-run school. The kids wear uniforms as any other academy. Students from
all socio-economic status' are eligible to attend and they scholarship some
who have academic promise but cannot pay. They have "magnet-type" tracks for
both college-prep and vocational students. Class size is smaller than Public
School.I think this is the wave of the future.
